Bath Resealing for Ty Coch homes
Bath, shower and sink resealing with new mould-resistant silicone for homeowners, landlords and businesses in Ty Coch. Free, fixed quotes from your photos.
- Water getting behind the bath or tray
- A messy previous reseal
- Old sealant that looks dirty

Work for landlords and builders
We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, photos and access details.
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
How we handle bath resealing in Ty Coch
A reseal is a small job that makes a big difference. Clean, white joints make a bathroom look cared for, and they protect the walls and floor. We’re often asked to fix an untidy old seal and gaps in the seal, across shower trays & enclosures, kitchen worktops & sinks and basins & vanity units.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there’s a problem and we’ll come back.

What bath resealing costs
We price every job individually. The main factors are:
- Unusual colours or finishes
- The material
- How many areas need work
- Whether we combine several jobs
Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.
Getting a price from pictures
A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- A photo taken from further back
- The material, if you know it
You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

What a repair cannot fix
Not everything can be repaired, and we’d rather say so up front. We can’t fix:
- Hidden water damage
- Hollow or loose tiles
- Movement in the bath or tray
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.
Surfaces we repair
- Wet rooms
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Basins & vanity units
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
- Baths
What your bath or shower is made of matters
Baths
Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest.
Shower trays
Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.
What happens on the day
Here’s how a visit normally runs: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and tidy away. Plan for about two hours for a bath. Before we go, we will explain when it can be used and how to look after it.
- We cut out all of the old sealant.
- Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
- We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
- We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
- New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.
Before we arrive
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
- Let us know about parking or access

Advice
Aftercare tips
Looking after the surface is easy:
- Let steam out after showers
- Give the seal a regular clean
- Replace the seal when mould sets in
- Keep bottles off the joints
Avoid scraping the joints, and do not stand bottles on the seal.
If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. There may be more going on, and we will say if you need a builder or plumber.
FAQs for Ty Coch
Is there a call-out fee?
We do not add a call-out fee. Your fixed price includes everything.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Of course, and it typically saves money. Just add the extra items to your photos and you will get one combined price.
Is my repair covered?
Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.
How long does resealing take?
Typically a couple of hours, plus curing time.
Do you cover Ty Coch?
We do. We send a technician to Ty Coch for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
Nearly always. If pictures do not show enough, we will ask for another angle.
Why does my sealant keep going mouldy?
Usually poor ventilation and moisture sitting on the joint. Mould-resistant silicone and good ventilation help.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
Normally, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.
Why it’s worth resealing in Ty Coch
Resealing costs very little, and it protects everything around the bath. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for Ty Coch. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.
Why Ty Coch clients choose us

- Generally one visit, start to finish
- Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
- We leave the room as we found it

DIY kit or professional repair?
The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.
