Bath Resealing in Tyning
Bath, shower and sink resealing with new mould-resistant silicone in Tyning, carried out at your home and guaranteed for a year.
- Unsealed corners
- Gaps in the seal
- Discoloured, yellow sealant

About our bath resealing in Tyning
We reseal baths with them filled with water, so the joint opens fully, so the seal doesn’t tear when the bath is first used. Whether it’s silicone smeared on tiles and missing sealant behind the taps, we can normally put it right, whatever the material.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we will come back.

What bath resealing costs
You will not pay by the hour. The price is based on:
- The material
- Access to the area
- How much damage there is
- The colour and finish to match
Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.
How to get a fixed price
We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what to send:
- Something in shot to show the size
- A photo taken from further back
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- The material, if you know it
To get a price, send a couple of pictures through our quote form or call us. We will say right away if a repair is the right fix.
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Sinks and worktops
We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.
Shower trays
Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.

What else we do in Tyning
Is resealing worth it?
Sealing over old silicone is a false economy. It peels within weeks, and traps mould underneath. A proper reseal removes the old first. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

What a repair cannot fix
A repair isn’t right for every job, including:
- A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
- Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
- Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before you book.

Your questions about bath resealing in Tyning
Can new silicone go over old?
No, we never seal over old silicone. It’s removed, cleaned off and the joint dried first.
Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?
In most cases. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so let us know about it.
Will you leave a mess?
We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we’ve finished.
Why does my sealant keep splitting?
Normally because the bath or tray moves. We fill the bath before sealing it.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.
Is a repair better than a new one?
In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.
Is there a call-out fee?
Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.
Is there any odour?
There can be some smell while we work, which is why we ventilate. It clears as the materials cure.
Signs you need bath resealing in Tyning

You may need us if you’ve spotted any of these:

- Water getting behind the bath or tray
- Mould you can’t clean out
- Stained silicone

How the visit works
A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and tidy away. Allow around two hours from start to finish. Before we go, we will explain when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.
- The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
- Old sealant and residue are removed.
- The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
- Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
- We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.
How to prepare
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
How to get a price
Email us pictures of the damage and one of the entire item, with your BA2 postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.
Advice
How to look after the repair
How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:
- Replace the seal when mould sets in
- Use the extractor fan
- Give the seal a regular clean
- Keep the joints dry
Keep the room well ventilated, and wipe the joints after use so mould struggles to take hold.
If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. It may be more than a reseal, so we’ll tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.
Can I fix it myself?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
