Bath resealing in Uffculme without replacing anything

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint opens fully, so the seal doesn’t tear when the bath is first used. We regularly repair wet rooms, basins & vanity units and shower trays & enclosures, and people most often call us about an untidy old seal and stained silicone.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you’re not left on your own once we’ve gone.

Is resealing worth it?

A professional reseal costs little compared with water damage. It’s quick, tidy and protects your home. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. You’ll see the full price before booking, with no extras added later.

How it works

You don’t need to empty the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and start once you are happy with the plan. It usually takes around two hours, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. The old silicone is cut out completely.
  2. We remove the residue and clean the joint.
  3. We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

Before we arrive

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Open a window if you can

How to compare quotes

Aftercare tips

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Use the extractor fan
  • Air the room after use
  • Keep the joints dry
  • Give the seal a regular clean

Avoid scraping the joints, and do not stand bottles on the seal.

Black mould in sealant isn’t just unsightly, it’s a sign moisture is sitting in the joint. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.

Uffculme questions

What affects the price in Uffculme

We price every job individually. What matters most is:

  • The type of damage
  • What the surface is made of
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Doing more than one item at once

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Quotes from your photos

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed price back. Quotes are free and no obligation.

DIY kit or professional repair?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.
