When to call us in Up Holland

No sealant lasts for ever. Every bath or shower adds moisture and soap residue, which mould feeds on, and the joint flexes each time the bath fills.

Contact us if you’ve noticed any of these:

  • Stained silicone
  • A messy previous reseal
  • Silicone coming away from the tiles
  • Black mould in the sealant

Bath resealing at your home in Up Holland

A reseal is a small job that makes a big difference. Clean, white joints make a bathroom look cared for, and they keep water out. We regularly repair baths, kitchen worktops & sinks and basins & vanity units, and common reasons people contact us are discoloured, yellow sealant and mould you can’t clean out.

What we do, step by step

We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you know when to expect us. On site, it takes a couple of hours. The room is left tidy and you will know when it can be used.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
  5. We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.

How to prepare

  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Let us know about parking or access

Advice

Up Holland questions

Do you charge for travel?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Which areas do you work in?

We work UK-wide, and that includes Up Holland. Our prices are the same everywhere.

What does bath resealing cost?

Every job gets a fixed quote from your photos. Send a close-up and a picture of the whole item with your WN8 postcode.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Is it messy?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

Do you come to Up Holland?

We do. Technicians travel to Up Holland from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Why reseal now?

Resealing costs very little and protects the walls and floor. Failed sealant can lead to water damage that is much more expensive. We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Up Holland. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Why book with us

  • No need to remove anything
  • No extra charge for your area
  • We leave the room as we found it
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor

What affects the price in Up Holland

Prices are worked out job by job. What matters most is:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Access to the area
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • How much damage there is

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Getting a price from pictures

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Try to send:

  • Something in shot to show the size
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Any details about the material

There is no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest.

DIY kit or professional repair?

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Keeping it looking good

To keep it looking its best:

  • Clean the sealant gently and regularly
  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Air the room after use
  • Wipe the joints dry after use

Run the extractor fan, dry the joints after bathing, and clean them regularly with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Don’t wait until water gets behind the bath. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.
