Bath resealing near Upper Marlbrook

About our bath resealing in Upper Marlbrook

A reseal is a small job that makes a big difference. Clean, white joints make a bathroom look cared for, and they keep water out. We regularly repair baths, wet rooms and kitchen worktops & sinks, and the jobs we see most are gaps in the seal and silicone smeared on tiles.

Every job is backed for twelve months in Upper Marlbrook and everywhere else. We return to put right any problem with the work.

Resealing in Upper Marlbrook: why it matters

Resealing is routine maintenance. Putting off a reseal lets water get behind the bath or tray, which costs far more to put right. Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Why us?

  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • Typically one visit, start to finish
  • One-year guarantee on every repair

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.

10 questions to ask before booking

What happens on the day

Here’s how a visit normally runs: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, do the job and tidy away. Plan for about two hours for a bath. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
  3. We clean, treat and dry the joint.
  4. Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
  5. We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

Ask for a price

You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

Upper Marlbrook questions

How long does silicone take to cure?

Usually after around 24 hours. We confirm before we leave.

Why does mould come back so fast?

Generally poor ventilation and moisture sitting on the joint. We use mould-resistant silicone, and ventilation helps it last.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We carry out repairs for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses in Upper Marlbrook.

Do you work in Upper Marlbrook?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Upper Marlbrook and the rest of Worcestershire. Send pictures and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.

Can you repair several things at once?

Of course, and it typically saves money. Just add the extra items to your photos and you’ll get one combined price.

Is there a call-out fee?

We do not add a call-out fee. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.

Is there a guarantee?

All our work carries a one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

What a repair can’t fix

We would rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so these are the limits:

  • Hidden water damage
  • Gaps too big for silicone alone
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Wet rooms
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Baths
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Basins & vanity units

Can I fix it myself?

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

What bath resealing costs

Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Doing more than one item at once

A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

How to get a fixed price

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • One picture of the entire bath or shower
  • Any details about the material
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed price back. There is no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.

Looking after it afterwards

Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:

  • Use the extractor fan
  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting
  • Store bottles on a shelf
  • Open a window after bathing

Avoid scraping the joints, and do not stand bottles on the seal.

If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. It may be more than a reseal, and we’ll say if you need a builder or plumber.
