Need bath resealing in Vigo?

Bath resealing in Vigo, done in place

A good reseal is all about preparation: old silicone removed, mould treated, the joint cleaned and dried. Only then does the new sealant go on, as one neat, continuous bead. Our technicians work on shower trays & enclosures, baths and kitchen worktops & sinks, and people most frequently call us about leaks at the edges and sealant that’s split or lifting.

You are covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

How we price bath resealing

Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:

  • The material and finish
  • How much damage there is
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • What kind of damage it is

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Quotes from your pictures

Two or three clear pictures are typically enough. It helps if you send:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A picture taken from further back
  • What it’s made of, if you know

Upload pictures of the damage and one of the whole item, with your WS9 postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.

Is resealing worth it?

Sealing over old silicone is a false economy. It soon peels, and traps mould underneath. A proper reseal removes the old first. There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Why book with us

  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • Same prices wherever you are
  • No need to remove anything
  • Typically one visit, start to finish

When a repair is not the answer

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
  • Gaps too big for silicone alone
  • Movement in the bath or tray

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Materials we work on in Vigo

  • Basins & vanity units
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Wet rooms
  • Baths
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks

What your bath or shower is made of matters

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.

Common questions in Vigo

How long will it take?

A bath or shower usually takes a couple of hours. It then needs time to cure.

Do you cover the entire of Walsall?

We work UK-wide, and that includes Vigo. Our prices are the same everywhere.

How long does silicone take to cure?

We’ll give you the curing time.

Do you come to Vigo?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Vigo for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Just add the extra items to your photos and we’ll quote them together.

When can you do it?

Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Do you seal over the old sealant?

Never over old. The old sealant is cut out and the joint cleaned and dried.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

How to look after the repair

It’s all simple stuff, just a few sensible habits:

  • Let steam out after showers
  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Replace the seal when mould sets in

Good ventilation is the best protection, and dry the joints after bathing.

Do not wait until water gets behind the bath. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

What we do, step by step

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, do the job and clear up. Allow a couple of hours from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. We protect the area and mask the joint lines.
  2. We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
  3. The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
  4. Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
  5. We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Make sure the area is dry
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
