Your questions about bath resealing in Wadwick

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

We review the pictures and send a fixed quote.

Is the work guaranteed?

All our work carries our one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Yes, we often do. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

Why does my sealant keep splitting?

Movement is the usual cause, or it was sealed with the bath empty. We fill the bath before sealing it.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Of course, and it generally saves money. Just add the extra items to your photos and you’ll get one combined price.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders in Wadwick.

What does bath resealing cost?

We give a fixed price based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up and a picture of the entire item and your postcode.

Is there any odour?

There may be a mild smell during the work.

Bath resealing at your home in Wadwick

Resealing is one of the simplest ways to protect your bathroom. Failed sealant lets water get where it shouldn’t, and resealing puts a stop to that. If you’re dealing with unsealed corners and gaps in the seal, we can generally put it right, on basins & vanity units, shower trays & enclosures and wet rooms alike.

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee.

Is resealing worth it?

Compared with repairing water damage, resealing is cheap. It’s quick, tidy and protects your home. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

What you get with us

  • One visit for most repairs
  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited
  • We leave the room as we found it
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK

What we do, step by step

On the day, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job generally takes around two hours. We clean up when we’re done and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
  3. The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
  4. We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
  5. The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.

How to prepare

  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

Getting a price

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the whole bath or shower, include your postcode and send them over. You’ll get a fixed quote, not an estimate.

Different materials, different repairs

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, so the joint is at its widest.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.

Work for landlords and builders

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

For anyone letting property in or around Wadwick, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send photos for each one and we will come back with a combined price.

Prices and what affects them

Prices are worked out job by job, from your photos. The main factors are:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The type of damage
  • The material
  • The colour and finish to match

The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking, with nothing added on the day.

Quotes from your pictures

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Try to send:

  • Details of any past repairs
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Natural light rather than flash

To get a price, send a couple of pictures through our quote form or ring us. We’ll tell you honestly whether it can be repaired.

When we’d advise against a repair

We would rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:

  • Hidden water damage
  • Very wide gaps that need a trim
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.

What we work on

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Wet rooms
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Baths

Looking after it afterwards

Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts:

  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Air the room after use
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Keep the joints dry

Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, usually around 24 hours.

Do not wait until water gets behind the bath. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.
