Bath resealing in Walpole, done in place
The key to a good reseal is getting all of the old silicone out. Fresh sealant does not stick to old, which is why many DIY jobs peel. Common call-outs are for unsealed corners and old sealant that looks dirty, in wet rooms, baths and kitchen worktops & sinks.
Every job is backed for twelve months in Walpole and everywhere else. We return to put right any problem with the work.

What bath resealing costs
There is no charge for travel to Walpole. The price depends on:
- How hard the colour is to match
- Whether we combine several jobs
- Access to the area
- The material
We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.
Send pictures for a quote
The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:
- One picture of the whole bath or shower
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
To get a price, send a couple of pictures using our quote form or ring us. We’ll say straight away whether it can be repaired.
Aftercare tips
Aftercare is simple:
- Use the extractor fan
- Air the room after use
- Dry the seal after bathing
- Store bottles on a shelf
Let it cure fully before using the bath or shower, normally about a day.
Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.
Landlords, agents and businesses in Walpole
If you manage property in Walpole, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send pictures for each address and we will come back with a combined price.
We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Walpole as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it normally costs far less than a refit.
Why it’s worth resealing in Walpole
Resealing costs very little, and it protects everything around the bath. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.
Why us?
- Same prices wherever you are
- Dust sheets down, tidy finish
- Most jobs done in one visit
- Fixed prices from your photos

When a repair isn’t the answer
It helps to know what we can’t do too:
- Hollow or loose tiles
- A flexing bath
- Gaps too big for silicone alone
Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before booking.
What we work on
- Basins & vanity units
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
- Baths
- Wet rooms
- Shower trays & enclosures
Materials and what they mean for the repair
Shower trays
We put weight on a tray before sealing it, for the same reason.
Sinks and worktops
Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, once the joint is completely dry.
What we do, step by step
We turn up when we said we would, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your pictures first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. Most visits take around two hours, and we leave the room as we found it.
- We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
- The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
- The joint is dried thoroughly.
- For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
- New mould-resistant silicone goes on and is tooled to a neat finish, taps included.
Preparing for the visit
- Let us know about parking or access
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
- Have a window or extractor fan available

Related advice
Walpole: your questions answered
How long will it take?
Around two hours for a bath, then it needs to cure.
Can you redo someone else’s repair?
Usually, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so let us know about it.
What happens next?
We come back with a fixed quote, plus dates. You’re under no obligation.
Will you leave a mess?
Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.
Why does the silicone keep cracking?
Generally because the bath or tray moves, or it was sealed with the bath empty. We seal baths full of water.
Does someone need to be in?
We need someone to let us in. After that, you can carry on with your day.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Landlords are often glad to have it sorted before the end of a tenancy.
Is there any odour?
Expect a mild smell while we’re working.
DIY repairs versus a professional job
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.
A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
