How to look after the repair

Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts:

  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting
  • Use the extractor fan
  • Air the room after use
  • Give the seal a regular clean

Don’t scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and do not stand bottles on the seal.

Black mould in sealant isn’t just unsightly. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.

Bath resealing in Waungron without replacing anything

A proper reseal starts with removing every trace of the old silicone. Fresh sealant does not stick to old, which is why so many DIY reseals peel. We regularly repair wet rooms, kitchen worktops & sinks and baths, and common reasons people get in touch are silicone coming away from the tiles and old sealant that looks dirty.

You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before booking.

Different materials, different repairs

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.

Resealing in Waungron: why it matters

Sealing over old silicone is a false economy. It soon peels, and traps mould underneath. A proper reseal removes the old first. Instead of hourly rates, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Why book with us

  • Everything repaired in place
  • Same prices wherever you are
  • We leave the room as we found it
  • One visit for most repairs

When we’d advise against a repair

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first
  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
  • A flexing bath

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before booking.

What we work on

  • Wet rooms
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Baths

Prices and what affects them

We price every job individually, from your photos. What matters most is:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • What the surface is made of
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Quotes from your pictures

You can take the pictures on your phone, there is no need for anything special. Make sure they show:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A photo taken from further back
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

Send us a photo of the damage and one of the entire item, with your SA4 postcode, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.

Signs you need bath resealing in Waungron

No sealant lasts for ever. Each shower leaves moisture and soap behind, which mould loves, and the joint moves slightly every time the bath is filled.

People generally call us when they notice something like this:

  • Gaps by the taps
  • A messy previous reseal
  • Old sealant that looks dirty
  • Silicone coming away from the tiles

Before you book anyone

  • If travel is included in the price
  • What aftercare is recommended
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the photos show
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match

Common questions in Waungron

Do you seal over the old sealant?

No, we never seal over old silicone. The old sealant is cut out and the joint cleaned and dried.

Do you come to Waungron?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Waungron and the rest of Swansea. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Are there extra charges for Waungron?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Will the price change on the day?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. You will not be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

How much does bath resealing cost in Waungron?

We give a fixed quote based on pictures of the damage. Send a close-up and a picture of the entire item and your postcode.

How long does a reseal take?

Usually a couple of hours, then it needs to cure.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit generally costs less than separate visits. Include pictures of each item.

Can I fix it myself?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

What happens on the day

On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we’ll get on with it. Most visits take about two hours for a bath.

  1. We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
  2. We clean the joint and treat any mould.
  3. We dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
  5. We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, including around the taps.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Open a window if you can
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Make sure the area is dry
