Need bath resealing in Welford?

Bath resealing at your home in Welford

We cut out all of the old sealant, deal with any mould, and apply fresh mould-resistant silicone. We do this for baths, showers, sinks and worktops, and that includes the awkward spots behind the taps. We work on wet rooms, baths and basins & vanity units, and the jobs we see most are an untidy old seal and silicone coming away from the tiles.

We guarantee the work for a year. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Do you need bath resealing in Welford?

Even good sealant eventually discolours, especially in a busy family bathroom. Steam, soap and movement all take their toll.

These are the problems we’re asked about most:

  • Water getting behind the bath or tray
  • Black mould in the sealant
  • Gaps in the seal
  • An untidy old seal

Questions to ask before you book

  • Whether a trained technician does the job
  • How to care for the finish
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges

Welford questions

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes. We carry out repairs for householders, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses in Welford.

Do you hold any accreditations?

We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

What do you need from me?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787, and we will take it from there.

Is repairing better than replacing?

In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

Do you cover Welford?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and come to Welford. Send photos and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes, for a year. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Yes, we often do. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

What happens if you find more damage?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. You won’t be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

When a repair is not the answer

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
  • Hollow or loose tiles

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Baths
  • Wet rooms

Repairs by material

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, so the joint is at its widest.

The process

When we visit, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take about two hours for a bath. We clean up when we are done and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. We remove the residue and clean the joint.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

Ask for a price

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the entire bath or shower, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

Prices and what affects them

You will know the full cost before booking. We look at:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Welford. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Quotes from your photos

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • A photo taken from further back
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

If you’re in Welford and want a price, the easiest route is pictures: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

Keeping it looking good

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Reseal when black spots won’t clean off
  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
  • Wipe the joints dry after use
  • Air the room after use

Good ventilation is the best protection, and dry the joints after bathing so mould struggles to take hold.

Black mould in sealant is not just unsightly; it shows moisture is getting in. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.
