Bath resealing in Welford-on-Avon

About our bath resealing in Welford-on-Avon

The key to a good reseal is getting all of the old silicone out. New silicone will not bond to old, which is why so many DIY reseals peel. We are frequently asked to fix gaps by the taps and old sealant that looks dirty, across wet rooms, kitchen worktops & sinks and shower trays & enclosures.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you’re not left on your own once we’ve gone.

Is resealing worth it?

Putting new silicone over old doesn’t last. It soon peels, and traps mould underneath. A proper reseal removes the old first. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Welford-on-Avon: your questions answered

My seal keeps tearing. Why?

The bath or tray is probably flexing. If it keeps happening, the support may need fixing.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

How soon can you come?

Your quote comes with available dates. If it’s urgent, say so and we will do what we can.

Do you cover Welford-on-Avon?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Welford-on-Avon. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Is there a guarantee?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.

Can new silicone go over old?

We always remove the old sealant completely. Fresh silicone doesn’t stick to old.

How long will it take?

Most reseals take about two hours. Leave it to cure before use.

Are there extra charges for Welford-on-Avon?

We don’t add a call-out fee. Your fixed quote includes everything.

How it works

We turn up at the time we agreed with you and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. Most visits take about two hours for a bath, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. We remove the residue and clean the joint.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

Preparing for the visit

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Open a window if you can

How to get a price

You don’t need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

Advice

What your bath or shower is made of matters

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.

Aftercare tips

Nothing complicated is needed:

  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Use the extractor fan
  • Open a window after bathing
  • Wipe the joints dry after use

Do not scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and do not stand bottles on the seal.

Reseal before water gets in. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.

Signs you need bath resealing in Welford-on-Avon

Poor ventilation speeds things up: damp hangs around, and mould grows faster.

If you can see any of these, send us a picture:

  • Silicone smeared on tiles
  • Mould you cannot clean out
  • Water getting behind the bath or tray
  • Unsealed corners

What your quote should include

  • How the room is protected while they work
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the photos show
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • What aftercare is recommended

How to compare quotes

Honest limits

We would rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:

  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Hidden water damage
  • Hollow or loose tiles

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.

How we price bath resealing

You won’t pay by the hour. The price depends on:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • How much damage there is
  • What the surface is made of
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for Welford-on-Avon. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Send photos for a quote

Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To help us price it:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • A picture taken from further back

No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and we will come back with a fixed figure.
