Bath resealing near West End

Bath resealing in West End without replacing anything

Resealing is one of the simplest ways to protect your bathroom. Old, split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and resealing puts a stop to that. We work on wet rooms, baths and shower trays & enclosures, and common reasons people get in touch are missing sealant behind the taps and gaps in the seal.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.

Your questions about bath resealing in West End

What happens next?

We look at the photos and reply with a fixed quote and some dates. If we need another angle, we will ask.

Are you accredited?

We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Is there any odour?

There may be a mild smell during the work that clears as it cures.

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Most of the time. Tell us what was done before.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Of course, and it generally saves money. Send pictures of everything together and we will quote them together.

Why does the silicone keep cracking?

Usually because the bath or tray moves. We fill the bath before sealing it.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We carry out repairs for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses.

Do you seal over the old sealant?

No, we never seal over old silicone. It’s removed, cleaned off and the joint dried first.

Resealing in West End: why it matters

Compared with repairing water damage, resealing is cheap. It’s quick, tidy and protects your home. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why West End customers choose us

  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year

How it works

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and tidy away. Allow about two hours for a bath from start to finish. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and how to look after it.

  1. First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
  2. The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
  3. We dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
  5. We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, taps included.

How to prepare

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before

Advice

How we price bath resealing

Each job gets its own fixed price. These are the things that affect it:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Getting a price from pictures

We price nearly every job from photos. This is what to send:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and we will come back with a fixed figure.

Landlord and trade work in West End

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Aftercare tips

So the finish stays in good condition for years:

  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Replace the seal when mould sets in
  • Dry the seal after bathing
  • Give the seal a regular clean

Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, normally about a day.

If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. It may be more than a reseal, and we’ll say if you need a builder or plumber.
