Bath resealing near Westlands

Bath resealing at your home in Westlands

A fresh seal protects your bathroom. Failed sealant lets water get where it shouldn’t, and resealing puts a stop to that. Common call-outs are for gaps in the seal and an untidy old seal, across kitchen worktops & sinks, baths and wet rooms.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

How we price bath resealing

We price every job individually. What matters most is:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The colour and finish to match
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Whether we combine several jobs

Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Send photos for a quote

Photographing the damage takes a minute. Please include:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A photo taken from further back
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

Email us photos of the damage and one of the entire item, with your ST5 postcode, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

How to look after the repair

Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting
  • Wipe the joints dry after use
  • Open a window after bathing
  • Don’t stand toiletries on the seal

Let it cure fully before using the bath or shower, normally about a day.

Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. There may be more going on, so we will tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.

Do you need bath resealing in Westlands?

Black mould is the most common reason people reseal. It grows into the silicone, so cleaning only removes the surface.

People usually call us after spotting one of these:

  • Black spots in the silicone
  • Discoloured, yellow sealant
  • Unsealed corners
  • Leaks at the edges

What your quote should include

  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
  • Aftercare advice
  • How long it needs to cure

10 questions to ask before you book

Westlands: your questions answered

How quickly can you book me in?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send photos with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

Is it messy?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

Do you work in Westlands?

Yes, we do. Technicians travel to Westlands from across the region, with no extra charge for travel.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

We’ll show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

What areas do you cover?

Across the UK, and that includes Westlands. Prices don’t change with location.

When can I use the bath after resealing?

Usually after around 24 hours. We confirm before we leave.

Can pets and children be at home?

Just keep them out of the work area. We will tell you when the room can be used again.

How it works

Your technician turns up when we said we would, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your photos first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. Most visits take about two hours for a bath, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. Old sealant and residue are removed.
  3. The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
  4. Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
  5. We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Make sure the area is dry
  • Keep a parking space free if you can

Getting a price

No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.

When a repair is not the answer

To be straight with you, there are a few things a repair won’t fix:

  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
  • Hidden water damage

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.

What we work on

  • Wet rooms
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Baths
  • Shower trays & enclosures

Is resealing worth it?

A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is, and it protects everything around the bath. Failed sealant can lead to water damage that is much more expensive. Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for Westlands. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.
