Bath resealing at your home in Wheal Rose

A fresh seal protects your bathroom. Failed sealant lets water get where it shouldn’t, and resealing puts a stop to that. We regularly repair baths, wet rooms and basins & vanity units, and people most often call us about a messy previous reseal and gaps by the taps.

Every job is backed for twelve months in Wheal Rose and everywhere else. We return to put right any problem with the work.

How the visit works

We begin by going over the job with you, so you know exactly what we are doing. After that, protection goes down around the work area and we start. Allow a couple of hours, and we will tell you if anything changes.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. Old sealant and residue are removed.
  3. The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
  4. Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
  5. We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.

How we price bath resealing

We price every job individually, from your photos. The main factors are:

  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • What kind of damage it is
  • The material and finish
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before you book, with nothing added on the day.

Quotes from your pictures

Before you send pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

What a repair can’t fix

A repair isn’t right for every job, including:

  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
  • Hollow or loose tiles
  • Gaps too big for silicone alone

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Wet rooms
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Baths
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Shower trays & enclosures

Repairs by material

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, so the joint is at its widest.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, once the joint is completely dry.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

Looking after it afterwards

A little care keeps the finish looking good. Our advice:

  • Wipe the joints dry after use
  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Air the room after use
  • Keep bottles off the joints

Run the extractor fan, dry the joints after bathing, and clean them regularly with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Don’t wait until water gets behind the bath. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.
