Bath resealing near Whisby

Bath resealing in Whisby, done in place

Resealing is quick, but it transforms the look. Fresh joints make the entire room look cleaner, and they keep water out. We are often asked to fix missing sealant behind the taps and an untidy old seal, on kitchen worktops & sinks, baths and shower trays & enclosures.

Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

What affects the price in Whisby

We price every job individually, from your photos. What matters most is:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Access to the area

We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Send photos for a quote

You can generally get a fixed quote without us visiting. To help us price it:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

Most customers in Whisby get their price from photos. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

Work for landlords and builders

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, photos and access details and we’ll handle the rest.

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.

What your bath or shower is made of matters

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.

Resealing in Whisby: why it matters

A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is, and it protects everything around the bath. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Whisby questions

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged.

Do you come to Whisby?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to Whisby. Send pictures and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Why does mould come back so fast?

Mould needs moisture. Ventilation and drying keep it clean longer.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Typically, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

How much does bath resealing cost in Whisby?

We give a fixed price based on pictures of the damage. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo and your postcode.

Are you accredited?

We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Of course, and it normally saves money. Just add the extra items to your photos and we’ll quote them together.

Do you charge for travel?

We don’t add a call-out fee. Your fixed quote includes everything.

What happens on the day

On the day itself, there is little for you to do. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will take it from there. Most visits take a couple of hours, including clearing up.

  1. The old silicone is cut out completely.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

Advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

Aftercare tips

Most damage we see is avoidable. These habits help:

  • Store bottles on a shelf
  • Open a window after bathing
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Give the seal a regular clean

Use the extractor fan, dry the joints after bathing, and clean them regularly with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. It may be more than a reseal, and we will say if you need a builder or plumber.

When a repair isn’t the answer

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
  • Very wide gaps that need a trim
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.
