Bath resealing at your home in Whitehaven
The key to a good reseal is getting all of the old silicone out. New silicone will not bond to old, which is why many DIY jobs peel. Typical jobs include damp near the bath and old sealant that looks dirty, across shower trays & enclosures, wet rooms and baths.
A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

What affects the price in Whitehaven
A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We look at:
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- The colour and finish to match
- What the surface is made of
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
Send photos for a quote
You can typically get a fixed quote without us visiting. To help us price it:
- What it’s made of, if you know
- A wider photo showing the whole bath or shower
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- Something in shot to show the size
The quickest way to a price is to send two or three pictures through our quote form or ring us. We will tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.
Why it’s worth resealing in Whitehaven
Putting new silicone over old doesn’t last. It soon peels, and mould stays trapped behind it. We remove the old sealant completely. Compared with replacing, repairing usually costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

Aftercare tips
It’s all simple stuff:
- Open a window after bathing
- Replace the seal when mould sets in
- Give the seal a regular clean
- Keep bottles off the joints
Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, normally about a day.
Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem, it’s a sign moisture is sitting in the joint. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
How the visit works
Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you and checks the damage against your pictures first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. The work itself takes about two hours for a bath, and the room is left clean and tidy.
- We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
- Next we clean the joint and deal with mould.
- We dry the joint thoroughly.
- Baths are filled with water first, so the joint is at its widest.
- We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, including around the taps.
How to prepare
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
- Open a window if you can
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

Advice
Honest limits
We would rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:
- Hollow or loose tiles
- Hidden water damage
- Gaps too big for silicone alone
If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.
