Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.

Bath resealing in Winchelsea, done in place

A reseal is a small job that makes a big difference. Clean, white joints make a bathroom look cared for, and they protect the walls and floor. If you’re dealing with silicone smeared on tiles and gaps by the taps, we can typically put it right, whatever the material.

You are covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before booking.

Your questions about bath resealing in Winchelsea

Can I get a quote without a visit?

In nearly every case. If photos do not show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.

What happens after I send pictures?

We come back with a fixed quote, normally with dates to choose from. There’s no obligation to book.

Do you cover Winchelsea?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to Winchelsea and the rest of East Sussex. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

How do I book?

Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we’ll take it from there.

How long does a reseal take?

Generally a couple of hours, then it needs to cure.

How long does silicone take to cure?

Usually after around 24 hours. We confirm before we leave.

Do you seal over the old sealant?

We always remove the old sealant completely. New silicone will not bond to old.

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

Generally, yes. Let us know what was used before and we will plan for it.

How the visit works

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, cover and mask the work area, and get on with the job, which normally takes around two hours. If we find something your photos didn’t show, we’ll explain it before carrying on.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
  3. The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
  4. We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
  5. We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Have a window or extractor fan available

Advice

Honest limits

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair can’t fix:

  • A flexing bath
  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first
  • Gaps too big for silicone alone

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.

Materials we repair

  • Wet rooms
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Baths
  • Basins & vanity units

Resealing in Winchelsea: why it matters

A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is and protects the walls and floor. Failed sealant can lead to water damage that is much more expensive. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Why us?

  • No need to remove anything
  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • One price list for the whole UK

Landlord and trade work in Winchelsea

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there is no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

How to care for the repair

Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:

  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting
  • Use the extractor fan
  • Dry the seal after bathing

Keep the room well ventilated, and wipe the joints after use.

Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. It may be more than a reseal, and we’ll say if you need a builder or plumber.

Signs you need bath resealing in Winchelsea

In time, even good sealant discolours. Steam, soap and movement all wear it down.

Customers generally contact us about:

  • Old sealant that looks dirty
  • Leaks at the edges
  • Black spots in the silicone
  • Missing sealant behind the taps
