How it works

We begin by going over the job with you, so there are no surprises. Next, we cover and mask everything nearby and the work begins. It normally takes about two hours for a bath.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. We remove the residue and clean the joint.
  3. We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.

How to prepare

  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated

Bath resealing at your home in Wishaw

Preparation is everything in a reseal: every bit of old silicone out, mould treated, the joint clean and dry. Only then does the new sealant go on, as one neat, continuous bead. If you are dealing with water getting behind the bath or tray and silicone smeared on tiles, we can usually put it right, on baths, basins & vanity units and shower trays & enclosures alike.

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee.

How to care for the repair

To keep it looking its best:

  • Dry the seal after bathing
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Replace the seal when mould sets in
  • Clean the sealant gently and regularly

Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, normally around 24 hours.

If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. It may be more than a reseal, so we will tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.

Wishaw questions

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

We review the photos and send a fixed quote with dates.

Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?

Generally, yes. Tell us what was done before.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Which areas do you work in?

We cover the entire UK, including Wishaw and the rest of North Lanarkshire. Send your postcode with your pictures and we will confirm dates.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

If we find something the pictures didn’t show, we explain it first. You decide whether to go ahead.

What do you need from me?

Photos of the damage, a photo of the whole bath or shower and your postcode. Then we will agree a date.

Do you come to Wishaw?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Wishaw for every job, with no extra charge for travel.

Are you accredited?

We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Can I fix it myself?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Honest limits

We would rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:

  • Hidden water damage
  • Hollow or loose tiles
  • Very wide gaps that need a trim

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Baths
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Wet rooms

Resealing in Wishaw: why it matters

Resealing costs very little. Failed sealant can lead to water damage that is much more expensive. Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.

What you get with us

How we price bath resealing

A fixed quote means you know the cost before you book. We look at:

  • How many items we do on one visit
  • The colour and finish to match
  • How many areas need work
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

How to get a fixed price

Two or three clear photos are generally enough. It helps if you send:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • One picture of the whole bath or shower
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

Most customers in Wishaw get their price from photos. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.

Different materials, different repairs

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.

Work for landlords and builders

Hospitality businesses cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
