About our bath resealing in Motherwell

A reseal is a small job that makes a big difference. Clean, white joints make a bathroom look cared for, and they protect the walls and floor. Common call-outs are for a messy previous reseal and old sealant that looks dirty, in shower trays & enclosures, kitchen worktops & sinks and baths.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you are covered after the visit.

DIY kit or professional repair?

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

What we cannot put right

We will not take on work that won’t last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:

  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
  • Very wide gaps that need a trim

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Landlord and trade work in Motherwell

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, pictures and access details.

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Motherwell as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

Why reseal now?

A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is, and it protects everything around the bath. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Different materials, different repairs

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.

What happens on the day

We begin by going over the job with you. After that, protection goes down around the work area and we start. Allow around two hours, and we’ll tell you if anything changes.

  1. The old silicone is cut out completely.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

Ask for a price

You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

Looking after it afterwards

Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts:

  • Keep the joints dry
  • Use the extractor fan
  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting
  • Air the room after use

Good ventilation is the best protection, and dry the joints after bathing to keep mould away.

Black mould in sealant isn’t just unsightly, it’s a sign moisture is sitting in the joint. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.

What affects the price in Motherwell

Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Access to the area
  • The type of damage
  • How much damage there is

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Getting a price from photos

You can typically get a fixed price without us visiting. To help us price it:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath or shower, add your postcode and send them over. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.

Common questions in Motherwell

Why does mould come back so fast?

Mostly moisture and poor ventilation. We use mould-resistant silicone, and ventilation helps it last.

What happens after I send photos?

We look at the photos and reply with a fixed price and some dates. If we need another angle, we will ask.

How long will it take?

Generally a couple of hours, then it needs to cure.

What does bath resealing cost?

We give a fixed quote based on pictures of the damage. Send a close-up and a photo of the whole item with your ML1 postcode.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.

Are there extra charges for Motherwell?

Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.

My seal keeps tearing. Why?

Movement is the usual cause, or it was sealed with the bath empty. We seal baths full of water.

Will the price change on the day?

If we find something the pictures didn’t show, we explain it first. The price only changes if you agree.
