Bath resealing for Yelsted homes

Bath resealing at your home in Yelsted

We cut out all of the old sealant, treat any mould, and reseal with new mould-resistant silicone. We do this for baths, showers, sinks and worktops, including the awkward bits behind the taps. Our repair technicians work on shower trays & enclosures, basins & vanity units and wet rooms, and people most frequently call us about missing sealant behind the taps and old sealant that looks dirty.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee.

How we price bath resealing

There’s no charge for travel to Yelsted. The price comes down to:

  • How much damage there is
  • What kind of damage it is
  • What the surface is made of
  • Unusual colours or finishes

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking, with no extras added later.

Getting a price from pictures

Phone photos are fine, there is no need for anything special. Make sure they show:

  • Details of any past repairs
  • A photo taken from further back
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and we will come back with a fixed figure.

Honest limits

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair can’t fix:

  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
  • Hidden water damage
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Wet rooms
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Baths

Work for landlords and builders

For anyone letting property in or around Yelsted, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send pictures for each one and we’ll price them together.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

The process

On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we will get on with it. The job generally runs to a couple of hours, tidy-up included.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
  3. We clean, treat and dry the joint.
  4. We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
  5. We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.

How to prepare

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Have a window or extractor fan available

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, once the joint is completely dry.

When to call us in Yelsted

Black mould is the most common reason people reseal. It grows into the sealant itself, so cleaning only removes the surface.

If you can see any of these, send us a picture:

  • Unsealed corners
  • Damp near the bath
  • Gaps in the seal
  • Mould you can’t clean out

What to look for in a quote

  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • How long it needs to cure
  • What happens if they find more damage

10 questions to ask before you book

Looking after it afterwards

Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:

  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Keep the joints dry
  • Reseal when black spots won’t clean off
  • Do not stand toiletries on the seal

Run the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and clean them regularly with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Reseal before water gets in. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.

Common questions in Yelsted

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders across Kent.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

Can you reseal over the old silicone?

All the old sealant comes out. New silicone won’t bond to old.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged before the end of a tenancy.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.

Do you come to Yelsted?

Yes. We cover the whole UK and come to Yelsted and the rest of Kent. Send pictures and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

How do I stop mould in sealant?

Mould needs moisture. Ventilation and drying keep it clean longer.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Of course, and it normally saves money. Just add the extra items to your photos and you’ll get one combined price.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
