Coloured bath resurfacing for Bedlam homes

How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Bedlam

Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there is no plumbing or tiling. Most suites take one or two days. Whether it’s selling or letting a home with an old suite and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white, we can help, whatever the material.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we will come back. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

The process

The work is clean and fairly quiet. We protect the area first, then the work takes a day or two, depending on how many items. At the end we talk you through the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Once cured, normally by the day after, the suite is ready.

What we cannot put right

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before you book.

What we work on

  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Coloured basins

What coloured bath resurfacing costs

Resurfacing from £350. Every quote is fixed and free. What we take into account:

  • The type of damage
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is generally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

How to get a fixed price

Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To help us price it:

  • One picture of the whole suite
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Details of any past repairs
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

If you’re in Bedlam and want a price, the easiest route is photos: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

Do you need coloured bath resurfacing in Bedlam?

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s typically the colour that dates them, not the condition.

The most common problems we are called about are:

  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • How to care for the finish

How to compare quotes

Landlords, agents and businesses in Bedlam

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send photos, the address and how to get access.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

Questions from Bedlam

How do I book?

Just photos, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, access to the room.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Are there extra charges for Bedlam?

We don’t add a call-out fee. Your fixed price includes everything.

Is repairing better than replacing?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it isn’t worth repairing, we will tell you.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day.

Do you work in Bedlam?

Yes. We cover the whole UK and come to Bedlam and the rest of North Yorkshire. Send photos and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

What happens if you find more damage?

The price is fixed for what the photos show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

How do I get a price for coloured bath resurfacing in Bedlam?

Prices start from £350. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from photos. You’ll get a fixed figure before you book.

Repair or replace in Bedlam?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white turns it white with everything left in place. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.
