Coloured bath resurfacing near Beech Lanes

About our coloured bath resurfacing in Beech Lanes

A full suite is typically done in one to two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. Typical jobs include a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom, in whole bathroom suites, coloured basins and avocado, pampas and pink baths.

Every repair is covered by a one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Birmingham. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. We price every job individually, from your photos. The main factors are:

  • How many areas need work
  • The material and finish
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. You’ll see the full price before you book, with nothing added on the day.

Send pictures for a quote

Before you send pictures, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • A photo taken from further back
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

What we’re called out for in Beech Lanes

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is normally the colour, not the bath.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom

  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
  • Whether they match the colour on site

How to compare quotes

Why repair rather than replace?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing changes the colour without taking anything out. Prices start from £350. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Honest limits

Not everything can be repaired, and we would rather say so up front. We cannot fix:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured basins

Work for landlords and builders

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.

What we do, step by step

Once we are through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the job takes a day or two, depending on how many items, depending on what we find, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
  5. We leave everything to cure, normally until the next day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children

How to get a price

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three pictures through our quote form or ring us. We’ll tell you honestly whether it can be repaired.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
