What a repair can’t fix

In fairness, there are a few things a repair will not fix:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured basins
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Whole bathroom suites

About our coloured bath resurfacing in Braco

We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there is no plumbing or tiling. A full suite is usually done in one to two days. Whether it’s faded or patchy colour and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white, we can help, whatever the material.

All our work comes with a one-year guarantee. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

The process

We work cleanly and quietly, so you can stay at home while we are there. We protect the area first, then the work takes one to two days for a full suite. Before we leave, we explain the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. We leave everything to cure, normally until the day after.

Preparing for the visit

  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Make sure the area is dry
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

Common problems we fix in Braco

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s typically the colour that dates them, not the condition.

  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white

What to look for in a quote

  • A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • How changes to the job are handled
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long

Choosing a repair company

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a coloured suite involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white changes the colour without taking anything out. Prices start from £350. The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking.

Why us?

  • Everything repaired in place
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job
  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • No extra charge for your area

See our prices page or resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

What affects the price in Braco

Resurfacing from £350. Prices are worked out job by job. The main factors are:

  • What the surface is made of
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Access to the area

Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Quotes from your photos

Photographing the damage takes a minute. Please include:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • What it’s made of, if you know

We price from photos so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you will get a fixed figure back.

Braco: your questions answered

Which areas do you work in?

We cover the entire UK, including Braco and the rest of Stirling. Just include your postcode and we’ll offer you dates.

What about the toilet?

Talk to us first. A toilet bowl is constantly wet, so we will advise honestly before quoting.

What does coloured bath resurfacing cost?

Prices start from £350. We give a fixed price from your pictures. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your FK15 postcode.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Generally, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so mention it when you send pictures.

Can a coloured bath be made white?

Yes. It’s resurfaced in white where it stands.

Is my repair covered?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
