Coloured bath resurfacing in Bugmore

Coloured bath resurfacing in Bugmore, done in place

Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. Most suites take one or two days. Common call-outs are for faded or patchy colour and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white, in coloured shower trays, avocado, pampas and pink baths and whole bathroom suites.

We guarantee the work for a year. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Common problems we fix in Bugmore

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is generally the colour, not the bath.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour

The process

You do not need to empty the room. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and start once you’re happy with the plan. It generally takes a day or two, depending on how many items, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. We leave everything to cure, normally until the day after.

Before we arrive

  • Ensure the area is dry
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Ensure the room can be ventilated

What a repair can’t fix

We’d rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.

Materials we work on in Bugmore

  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured basins
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured shower trays

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Prices start from £350. Each job gets its own fixed quote. These are the things that affect it:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The type of damage

A repair usually costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

Quotes from your pictures

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • A picture taken from further back

Email us photos of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, with your SP1 postcode, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

Work for landlords and builders

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.

Bugmore: your questions answered

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Yes, we frequently do. Removing the old work can add time, and that’s in the quote.

When can you do it?

We will give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Normally, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

What happens if you find more damage?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. You won’t be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

Can you turn my avocado bath white?

Yes. It’s resurfaced in white where it stands.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we’re working in. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

Should you replace it?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Refinishing it in white changes the colour without taking anything out. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why book with us

  • One price list for the whole UK
  • Generally one visit, start to finish
  • No need to remove anything
  • Rooms protected and left tidy

Read our pricing and resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

Can I fix it myself?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.
