Need coloured bath resurfacing in Crafthole?

Coloured bath resurfacing at your home in Crafthole

Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. A full suite is normally done in one to two days. Common call-outs are for faded or patchy colour and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white, on coloured shower trays, coloured basins and avocado, pampas and pink baths.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there is a problem and we’ll sort it. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Before and after: an old basin refinished to bright white

What coloured bath resurfacing costs

Resurfacing from £350. You will not pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • The material

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. You will see the full price before booking, with nothing added on the day.

Getting a price from pictures

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • Details of any past repairs
  • A photo taken from further back
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • What it’s made of, if you know

Most clients in Crafthole get their price from pictures. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

What we can’t put right

In fairness, there are a few things a repair will not fix:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured basins
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths

For landlords and businesses

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

For anyone letting property in or around Crafthole, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send pictures for each one and we will come back with a combined price.

The process

Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you and checks the damage against your photos first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. Most visits take a day or two, depending on how many items, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
  5. Each item is left to cure, normally ready the next day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated

Related advice

Should you replace it?

Replacing a coloured suite involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing changes the colour with everything left in place. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Why choose Surface Doctor in Crafthole

  • Straight answers about what a repair can do
  • We leave the room as we found it
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor

See our prices page and resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

Can I fix it myself?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

Common problems we fix in Crafthole

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s typically the colour that dates them, not the condition.

Clients typically contact us about:

  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom

Questions to ask before booking

  • Whether a trained technician does the job
  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • What preparation is included
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the photos show

How to compare quotes

Crafthole questions

Do you work in Crafthole?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to Crafthole and the rest of Cornwall. Send pictures and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. You won’t be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

Can you do the toilet too?

Talk to us first. The inside of a bowl is always wet and scrubbed, so we will advise honestly before quoting.

Is the work guaranteed?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.

Can you quote from photos?

In nearly every case. If pictures do not show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.

Is a repair better than a new one?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it isn’t worth repairing, we will tell you.

Do you charge for travel?

There is no separate call-out charge. Your fixed quote includes everything.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We look at the pictures and reply with a fixed quote and some dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.
