How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Failand

We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. Most suites take one or two days. Typical jobs include selling or letting a home with an old suite and faded or patchy colour, on coloured shower trays, whole bathroom suites and avocado, pampas and pink baths.

Every job is backed for twelve months in Failand and everywhere else. We return to put right any problem with the work. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a coloured suite involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing turns it white with everything left in place. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Failand. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Why us?

  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • No need to remove anything
  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • Typically one visit, start to finish

See our full price list and bath cost comparison.

How the visit works

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so you know exactly what we’re doing. Next, we cover and mask everything nearby and we start. You can expect it to take a day or two, depending on how many items.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Once cured, normally by the day after, the suite is ready.

Before we arrive

  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Open a window if you can

Ask for a price

You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

Common problems we fix in Failand

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is generally the colour, not the bath.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white

What to look for in a quote

  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
  • Aftercare advice
  • When it can be used again
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long

Choosing a repair company

When we would advise against a repair

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Coloured shower trays
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured basins

What affects the price in Failand

Resurfacing from £350. We give every job a fixed price from pictures. These are the things that affect it:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The material and finish
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Unusual colours or finishes

What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.

Quotes from your photos

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • A photo taken from further back
  • The material, if you know it
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

We price from photos so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.

DIY kit or professional repair?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

Common questions in Failand

What about the toilet?

Ask us. The inside of a bowl is always wet and scrubbed, so we will tell you what will last.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and you’ll get one combined price.

How quickly can you book me in?

That depends on our diary for your area. Send photos with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.

Will it make a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

Can a coloured bath be made white?

Yes. It’s resurfaced in white where it stands.

Are there extra charges for Failand?

Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Do you work in Failand?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Failand. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children.
