Fogwatt: your questions answered
Do you cover the whole of Moray?
We cover the whole UK, including Fogwatt and the rest of Moray. Send your postcode with your photos and we will confirm dates.
Do the materials smell?
Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, which is why we ventilate. It clears as the materials cure.
Is it messy?
No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.
Is the work guaranteed?
Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.
Do you charge for travel?
Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.
Do you work in Fogwatt?
We do. Repair technicians travel to Fogwatt from across the region, with no extra charge for travel.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
Typically, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so let us know about it.
Can you turn my avocado bath white?
Yes. We resurface it in white with it left in place.
Coloured bath resurfacing in Fogwatt without replacing anything
A full suite is normally done in one to two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. Typical jobs include a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white, on whole bathroom suites, coloured basins and coloured shower trays.
We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you are not left on your own once we’ve gone. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

Should you replace it?
Replacing a coloured suite means a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing turns it white without taking anything out. Prices start from £350. Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.
Why us?
- No need to remove anything
- Honest advice, even when it means no job
- Rooms protected and left tidy
- Colour mixed on the day to match
Read our prices page or guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.
How the visit works
The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can stay at home while we are there. We protect the area first, then the job itself takes one to two days for a full suite. Before we leave, we explain how soon it can be used and how to look after it.
- We protect the room and ventilate it.
- We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
- The surface is prepared and primed.
- We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
- Once cured, normally by the day after, the suite is ready.
How to prepare
- Let us know if it has been repaired before
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
- Make sure the room can be ventilated
Ask for a price
The quickest way to a price is to send two or three photos using our quote form or call us. We will tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.
Advice
Work for landlords and builders
Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Fogwatt use us as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.
We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.
What we can’t put right
A repair isn’t right for every job, for example:
- The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
- Items cracked right through
- Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)
Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

Can I fix it myself?
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.
For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.
Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £350. We give every job a fixed quote from photos. This is what makes a difference:
- Whether we combine several jobs
- The material and finish
- What kind of damage it is
- How easy the damage is to reach
It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.
How to get a fixed price
Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Please include:
- Details of any past repairs
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- The material, if you know it
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the whole suite, include your postcode and send them to us. You will get a fixed quote, not an estimate.
When to call us in Fogwatt
Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is generally the colour, not the bath.
Typical reasons for a call-out include:
- Selling or letting a home with an old suite
- A suite that does not match a new bathroom
- Faded or patchy colour
- A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
Questions to ask before you book
- If travel is included in the price
- Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
- Who turns up on the day
- What the guarantee covers, and for how long
