Coloured bath resurfacing for Lower Shelf homes

Coloured bath resurfacing in Lower Shelf without replacing anything

Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. A full suite is usually done in one to two days. Common call-outs are for faded or patchy colour and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom, on coloured shower trays, whole bathroom suites and avocado, pampas and pink baths.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

Why repair rather than replace?

Replacing a coloured suite involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing turns it white with everything left in place. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.

What you get with us

  • Colour-matched on site
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor

How it works

You do not need to empty the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you are happy with the plan. Most jobs take one to two days for a full suite, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
  5. Once cured, normally by the next day, the suite is ready.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Open a window if you can
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. Prices are worked out job by job, from your pictures. What matters most is:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

A repair usually costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send photos and we will give you the exact figure.

How to get a fixed quote

You can take the pictures on your phone. Ensure they show:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Details of any past repairs
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A wider photo showing the entire suite

Email us a picture of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, with your HX3 postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

Can I fix it myself?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

Work for landlords and builders

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Signs you need coloured bath resurfacing in Lower Shelf

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and many are still sound. It’s generally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

Common reasons people in Lower Shelf contact us are:

  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour

Questions to ask before booking

  • What prep work is covered
  • Whether a trained technician does the job
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT

10 questions to ask before you book

Common questions in Lower Shelf

Can I get a quote without a visit?

In nearly every case. If photos don’t show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.

Is there a guarantee?

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Can tenants book a repair?

We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Just make sure the landlord agrees.

Do the materials smell?

A little, depending on the job. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum.

When can you do it?

We’ll give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Can a coloured bath be made white?

Yes. It’s resurfaced in white where it stands.

Do you charge for travel?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We review the pictures and send a fixed quote with dates.

What we cannot put right

We’d rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.
