About our coloured bath resurfacing in Lyness
We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, with no new plumbing or tiling. A full suite is typically done in one to two days. Whether it’s faded or patchy colour and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom, we can typically put it right.
A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Why repair rather than replace?
Replacing a coloured suite involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing changes the colour with everything left in place. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. Compared with replacing, a repair is usually a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

How we price coloured bath resurfacing
Resurfacing from £350. There’s no charge for travel to Lyness. The price comes down to:
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- How hard the colour is to match
- How easy the damage is to reach
- How many items we do on one visit
A repair usually costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send pictures and we will give you the exact figure.
How to get a fixed quote
Before you send pictures, these tips help us give you a firm price:
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- What it’s made of, if you know
- A photo taken from further back
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of photos using our quote form or call us. We’ll say straight away if a repair is the right fix.
Work for landlords and builders
We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we will handle the rest.
Letting agents frequently send us photos straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

When to call us in Lyness
Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is generally the colour, not the bath.
If you can see any of these, send us a photo:
- Selling or letting a home with an old suite
- A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
- A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
- Faded or patchy colour
What to look for in a quote
- How the room is protected while they work
- If travel is included in the price
- What aftercare is recommended
- Whether they match the colour on site
Lyness: your questions answered
Can you repair something that is been repaired before?
Most of the time. Let us know what was used before and we will plan for it.
Does someone need to be in?
Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You don’t need to watch us work.
How much does coloured bath resurfacing cost in Lyness?
Prices start from £350. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from pictures. You’ll get a fixed figure before you book.
Is my repair covered?
Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Landlords are often glad to have it sorted.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit. Everywhere else in the home is fine.
Do you hold any accreditations?
Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.
Is repairing better than replacing?
In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you.
When we’d advise against a repair
Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair can’t fix:
- The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
- Items cracked right through
- Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)
Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.
What we work on
- Coloured shower trays
- Avocado, pampas and pink baths
- Whole bathroom suites
- Coloured basins

What happens on the day
Your technician turns up at the time we agreed with you and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. The work itself takes a day or two, depending on how many items, and the room is left clean and tidy.
- First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
- Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
- We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
- We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
- Once cured, normally by the following day, the suite is ready.
Preparing for the visit
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
