Mayals: your questions answered
Is there a call-out fee?
Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.
What happens next?
You get a fixed quote and available dates. If we need another angle, we will ask.
How much does coloured bath resurfacing cost in Mayals?
Prices start from £350. We give a fixed price based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up and a picture of the entire item with your SA3 postcode.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.
How soon can you come?
We’ll give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.
What do you need from me?
Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.
Can you quote from pictures?
In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures cannot show what we need.
Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?
Yes, we often do. Removing the old work can add time, and that is in the quote.
How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Mayals
A full suite is usually done in one to two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, with no new plumbing or tiling. We are often asked to fix a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white, in coloured basins, whole bathroom suites and avocado, pampas and pink baths.
We guarantee the work for a year. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Repairing versus replacing in Mayals
Swapping a coloured suite for a white one means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing turns it white with everything left in place. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.
Why us?
- CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
- Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
- Every repair guaranteed for a year
- Same prices wherever you are

For landlords and businesses
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. We can visit several plots in one trip.
When a repair is not the answer
A repair isn’t always the answer, and we will tell you before we start. We cannot fix:
- The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
- Items cracked right through
- Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)
Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.
Surfaces we repair
- Coloured shower trays
- Coloured basins
- Avocado, pampas and pink baths
- Whole bathroom suites

What we do, step by step
Here’s how a visit normally runs: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, do the job and clear up. Plan for a day or two, depending on how many items. Before leaving, we tell you how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.
- We protect the room and ventilate it.
- Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
- The surface is prepared and primed.
- The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
- Each item is left to cure, typically ready the next day.
How to prepare
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
- Keep a parking space free if you can
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access
Getting a price
You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.
Related advice
Should I try a DIY kit first?
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
When to call us in Mayals
Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. The problem is typically the colour, not the bath.
It’s worth getting a quote if you see:
- A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
- Faded or patchy colour
- A suite that does not match a new bathroom
- Selling or letting a home with an old suite
Questions to ask before booking
- Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
- Whether a trained technician does the job
- How long the guarantee is and what it covers
- When it can be used again
Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £350. Each job gets its own fixed price. These are the things that affect it:
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- The material and finish
- How many items we do on one visit
- How much damage there is
A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before you book, with nothing added on the day.
Quotes from your photos
The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:
- Any details about the material
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
- One picture of the whole suite
Email us photos of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, with your SA3 postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.
