Work for landlords and builders

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send photos, the address and how to get access.

Coloured bath resurfacing in Newlands, done in place

We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there is no plumbing or tiling. A full suite is typically done in one to two days. We work on whole bathroom suites, coloured shower trays and coloured basins, and common reasons people get in touch are faded or patchy colour and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months. We return to put right any problem with the work. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

When we’d advise against a repair

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair will not do:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Coloured basins
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths

What we are called out for in Newlands

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is generally the colour, not the bath.

Clients generally contact us about:

  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

Questions to ask before booking

  • How soon you can use it again
  • Whether a trained technician does the job
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
  • What aftercare is recommended

Your questions about coloured bath resurfacing in Newlands

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Just add the extra items to your pictures and we will quote them together.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it is not worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

Will the price change on the day?

If we find something the photos didn’t show, we explain it first. The price only changes if you agree.

Will it make a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.

What about the toilet?

Ask us. The inside of a bowl is always wet and scrubbed, so we will tell you what will last.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

What happens after I send photos?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote.

Can you turn my avocado bath white?

Yes. We resurface it in white with it left in place.

What affects the price in Newlands

Prices start from £350. You won’t pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • The material and finish
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How much damage there is
  • Doing more than one item at once

No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Send photos for a quote

Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • One picture of the entire suite
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

We price from pictures so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.

What we do, step by step

Here’s how a visit generally runs: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, do the job and tidy away. Plan for one to two days for a full suite from start to finish. Before we go, we’ll explain how long to leave it and how to look after it.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. Each item is left to cure, typically ready the following day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

Advice

Should you replace it?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing changes the colour without taking anything out. Prices start from £350. Set against the cost of replacement, repairing generally costs far less, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
