Coloured bath resurfacing near Penn Hill

Coloured bath resurfacing in Penn Hill, done in place

Everything is resurfaced where it stands, with no new plumbing or tiling. A full suite is generally done in one to two days. Common call-outs are for selling or letting a home with an old suite and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom, on whole bathroom suites, coloured basins and avocado, pampas and pink baths.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

When we would advise against a repair

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Coloured basins
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths

Penn Hill: your questions answered

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

The price is fixed for what the photos show. If there is more, we will tell you before starting.

What about the toilet?

Ask us. The inside of a bowl is always wet and scrubbed, so we’ll advise honestly before quoting.

Can you price it without visiting?

In nearly every case. If pictures don’t show enough, we will ask for another angle.

What does coloured bath resurfacing cost?

Prices start from £350. Every job gets a fixed quote based on pictures of the damage. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo and your postcode.

How do I book?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787, and we’ll do the rest.

Do you cover the entire of Poole?

We work UK-wide, and that includes Penn Hill. Our prices are the same everywhere.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Do I have to be there?

We need someone to let us in. You don’t need to watch us work.

Prices and what affects them

Resurfacing from £350. Every quote is fixed and free. What we take into account:

  • Access to the area
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • What the surface is made of
  • What kind of damage it is

We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Penn Hill. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

How to get a fixed price

Phone photos are fine. Just ensure we can see:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we will send back a fixed quote and some dates.

For landlords and businesses

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

The process

We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you know when to expect us. On site, it takes a day or two, depending on how many items in most cases. We leave the room clean and you will know when it can be used.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. Once cured, normally by the next day, the suite is ready.

Preparing for the visit

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

Getting a price

We price from photos so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you will get a fixed figure back.

Common problems we fix in Penn Hill

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s normally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

People typically call us after spotting one of these:

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

Questions to ask before you book

  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • If travel is included in the price
  • How the room is protected while they work
  • How to care for the finish

How to compare quotes

Why repair rather than replace?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white changes the colour with everything left in place. Prices start from £350. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

What you get with us

  • A fixed quote before booking
  • Everything repaired in place
  • Straight answers about what a repair can do
  • A year’s guarantee on all work

DIY repairs versus a professional job

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
