How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Port Lion

Most suites take one or two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, with no new plumbing or tiling. We work on whole bathroom suites, coloured basins and coloured shower trays, and common reasons people contact us are a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and faded or patchy colour.

Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Before and after: an old basin refinished to bright white

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

When a repair isn’t the answer

Not everything can be repaired, and we will tell you before we start. Repairs won’t solve:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

Materials we repair

  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Coloured basins

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Resurfacing from £350. Each job gets its own fixed price. These are the things that affect it:

  • The material
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • How much damage there is

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Send pictures for a quote

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A photo taken from further back
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a coloured suite involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing turns it white with everything left in place. Prices start from £350. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Do you need coloured bath resurfacing in Port Lion?

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and many are still sound. It’s normally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

For landlords and businesses

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

How the visit works

Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you’re not left guessing. Once we’re there, the work takes one to two days for a full suite in most cases. The room is left tidy and you will know when it can be used.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Each item is left to cure, normally ready the day after.

Before we arrive

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

Advice

Port Lion questions

Can you do the toilet too?

Talk to us first. The inside of a bowl is always wet and scrubbed, so we will tell you what will last.

Will the price change on the day?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. You won’t be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

Do you cover the whole of Pembrokeshire?

We work UK-wide, and that includes Port Lion. Our prices are the same everywhere.

How soon can you come?

We’ll give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, so the repair is not disturbed while it cures.

How do I book?

Photos of the damage, a photo of the whole suite and your postcode. Then we will agree a date.

Is there any odour?

Expect a mild smell while we are working.

Will you leave a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.
