Coloured bath resurfacing for Reay homes

How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Reay

A full suite is generally done in one to two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, with no new plumbing or tiling. Our technicians work on whole bathroom suites, avocado, pampas and pink baths and coloured basins, and common reasons people contact us are a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and selling or letting a home with an old suite.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything is not right, ring us and we will sort it. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

What coloured bath resurfacing costs

Resurfacing from £350. We give every job a fixed quote from pictures. These are the things that affect it:

  • What the surface is made of
  • The colour and finish to match
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • The size and number of damaged areas

We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Getting a price from pictures

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A wider photo showing the entire suite

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them over with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed quote back. There’s no charge for the quote and you are under no obligation.

Common questions in Reay

Is there any odour?

There can be some smell while we work, which is why we ventilate. It clears as the materials cure.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

Can a coloured bath be made white?

Yes. It’s resurfaced in white where it stands.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Yes, we often do. Removing the old work can add time, and that is in the quote.

How quickly can you book me in?

Your quote comes with available dates. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.

Do you come to Reay?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Reay for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

You get a fixed quote and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.

What we’re called out for in Reay

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. The problem is usually the colour, not the bath.

Most people contact us when they notice one of these:

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom

What your quote should include

  • What prep work is covered
  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • Who will actually do the work
  • Whether they match the colour on site

Repairing versus replacing in Reay

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing turns it white with everything left in place. Prices start from £350. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book.

Why Reay customers choose us

  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • Free fixed quotes from pictures

When we would advise against a repair

In fairness, there are a few things a repair will not fix:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.

What we work on

  • Coloured shower trays
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured basins

How it works

You don’t need to empty the room. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and start once you are happy with the plan. Most jobs take a day or two, depending on how many items, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
  5. Once cured, normally by the next day, the suite is ready.

Preparing for the visit

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Ensure the room can be ventilated

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

For landlords and businesses

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we’ll handle the rest.
