Coloured bath resurfacing in Ringwell without replacing anything

A full suite is usually done in one to two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, with no new plumbing or tiling. We’re frequently asked to fix faded or patchy colour and selling or letting a home with an old suite, in whole bathroom suites, avocado, pampas and pink baths and coloured shower trays.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

What we cannot put right

To be straight with you, there are a few things a repair will not fix:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

What we work on

  • Coloured shower trays
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured basins

What happens on the day

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we have agreed what we’re doing. It typically takes one to two days for a full suite, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
  5. Each item is left to cure, typically ready the following day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Open a window if you can
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

How to get a price

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them over with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed price back. There’s no charge for the quote and you are under no obligation.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

When to call us in Ringwell

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is normally the colour, not the bath.

The most common problems we are called about are:

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour

What your quote should include

  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • How the room is protected while they work
  • Who will actually do the work

How to compare quotes

Repair or replace: which is better?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white turns it white without taking anything out. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. A repair typically costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send photos and we will give you the exact figure.

Why Ringwell customers choose us

  • Colour-matched on site
  • We leave the room as we found it
  • Everything repaired in place
  • Generally one visit, start to finish

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Resurfacing from £350. Prices are worked out job by job, from your photos. The main factors are:

  • The material
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • How many items we do on one visit

Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and doing several items at once reduces it.

How to get a fixed price

Two or three clear pictures are typically enough. It helps if you send:

  • Any details about the material
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

Send us a photo of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, and tell us you’re in Ringwell, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

Work for landlords and builders

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Cornwall and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Letting agents frequently send us photos straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Ringwell: your questions answered

What about the toilet?

Talk to us first. The inside of a bowl is always wet and scrubbed, so we’ll tell you what will last.

Are there extra charges for Ringwell?

We don’t add a call-out fee. Your fixed quote includes everything.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the photos can’t show what we need.

Can a coloured bath be made white?

Yes. It’s resurfaced in white where it stands.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit usually costs less than separate visits. Send photos of everything you’d like done.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Yes, regularly. It can add a little time, which we include in the quote.

How do I book?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787, and we will do the rest.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Of course. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.
