About our coloured bath resurfacing in Sound

A full suite is typically done in one to two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there is no plumbing or tiling. We are often asked to fix selling or letting a home with an old suite and faded or patchy colour, on coloured shower trays, coloured basins and avocado, pampas and pink baths.

Peace of mind is built in: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before booking. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

How it works

Here’s how a visit usually runs: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and tidy away. Allow a day or two, depending on how many items from start to finish. Before we go, we’ll explain when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. Once cured, normally by the day after, the suite is ready.

Preparing for the visit

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

Honest limits

Some jobs aren’t right for a repair, for example:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.

Surfaces we repair

  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured basins
  • Coloured shower trays

When to call us in Sound

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. The problem is usually the colour, not the bath.

Contact us if you’ve noticed:

  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Faded or patchy colour

Questions to ask before booking

  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • When it can be used again
  • Aftercare advice
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges

Our hiring checklist

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a coloured suite means a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Refinishing it in white changes the colour without taking anything out. Prices start from £350. We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Sound. What changes the price is the job itself: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Why us?

  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • Straight answers about what a repair can do
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • Usually one visit, start to finish

FAQs for Sound

How quickly can you book me in?

That depends on our diary for your area. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.

Can you quote from photos?

Usually, yes. Clear photos let us give you a fixed price without visiting.

What does coloured bath resurfacing cost?

Resurfacing from £350. We give a fixed quote from your photos. Send a close-up and a photo of the entire item and your postcode.

Can you do the toilet too?

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Generally, yes. Tell us what was done before.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Sound

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover. We can visit several plots in one trip.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Prices start from £350. Prices are worked out job by job, from your pictures. What matters most is:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • How hard the colour is to match

Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Quotes from your pictures

The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:

  • Details of any past repairs
  • A picture taken from further back
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three photos using our quote form or ring us. We will say right away if a repair is the right fix.
