Coloured bath resurfacing near Stackpole

Coloured bath resurfacing at your home in Stackpole

We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there is no plumbing or tiling. A full suite is normally done in one to two days. We’re often asked to fix selling or letting a home with an old suite and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white, on coloured basins, avocado, pampas and pink baths and coloured shower trays.

You are covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before booking. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

What happens on the day

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you’re happy with the plan. Most jobs take one to two days for a full suite, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
  5. Each item is left to cure, normally ready the day after.

Preparing for the visit

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access

How to get a price

There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is usually the colour, not the bath.

The most common problems we’re called about are:

  • Faded or patchy colour
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom

What a repair cannot fix

Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured basins
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured shower trays

DIY repairs versus a professional job

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Prices start from £350. Prices are worked out job by job. The main factors are:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Access to the area
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

Set against the cost of replacement, repairing typically costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

How to get a fixed price

We price nearly every job from photos. This is what we need:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • The material, if you know it
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • One picture of the whole suite

You do not need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.
