About our coloured bath resurfacing in The Avenues
A full suite is generally done in one to two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, with no new plumbing or tiling. We regularly repair coloured shower trays, coloured basins and whole bathroom suites, and common reasons people get in touch are faded or patchy colour and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white.
Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

When we would advise against a repair
A repair is not right for every job, including:
- The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
- Items cracked right through
- Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)
Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.
Materials we work on in The Avenues
- Whole bathroom suites
- Coloured shower trays
- Avocado, pampas and pink baths
- Coloured basins
Why repair rather than replace?
Replacing a coloured suite involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing turns it white with everything left in place. Prices start from £350. Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.
What you get with us
- No need to remove anything
- Fixed prices from your photos
- Honest advice, even when it means no job
- Most jobs done in one visit
Read our pricing and guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.
What happens on the day
We begin by going over the job with you, so you know exactly what we are doing. After that, protection goes down around the work area and we start. You can expect it to take one to two days for a full suite, and we will tell you if anything changes.
- First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
- Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
- We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
- The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
- Once cured, normally by the day after, the suite is ready.
Preparing for the visit
- Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
- Let us know about parking or access
- Let us know which floor the room is on
How to get a price
Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them over with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed price back. There’s no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.

Common questions in The Avenues
Can a coloured bath be made white?
Yes. It’s resurfaced in white where it stands.
What happens once I’ve sent photos?
We review the photos and send a fixed quote with dates.
Is there a call-out fee?
We don’t add a call-out fee. Your fixed quote includes everything.
Do I have to be there?
We need someone to let us in. After that, you can carry on with your day.
Can landlords book you?
Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders.
Is a repair better than a new one?
Usually, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
Normally, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.
What does coloured bath resurfacing cost?
Resurfacing from £350. Every job gets a fixed price from your pictures. Send a close-up and a photo of the whole item and your postcode.
Do you need coloured bath resurfacing in The Avenues?
Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and many are still sound. The problem is normally the colour, not the bath.
If you can see any of these, send us a photo:
- Selling or letting a home with an old suite
- A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
- A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
- Faded or patchy colour
What your quote should include
- Who turns up on the day
- Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
- Aftercare advice
- What protection goes down before work starts
Prices and what affects them
Resurfacing from £350. There is no area surcharge for The Avenues. What changes the price is:
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- Unusual colours or finishes
- How many areas need work
- What the surface is made of
It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.
Getting a price from photos
Phone pictures are fine. Make sure they show:
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- The material, if you know it
- One picture of the whole suite
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
Most customers in The Avenues get their price from pictures. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
