About our coloured bath resurfacing in The Calls

A full suite is normally done in one to two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, with no new plumbing or tiling. We are frequently asked to fix selling or letting a home with an old suite and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom, across whole bathroom suites, coloured shower trays and avocado, pampas and pink baths.

We guarantee the work for a year. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

What coloured bath resurfacing costs

Resurfacing from £350. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • How many items we do on one visit
  • How many areas need work
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How hard the colour is to match

The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book.

Quotes from your photos

You can normally get a fixed price without us visiting. To help us price it:

  • A picture taken from further back
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Natural light rather than flash

For a price in The Calls, the easiest route is photos: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

What a repair can’t fix

It helps to know what we can’t do:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

Materials we repair

  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured basins
  • Coloured shower trays

What happens on the day

On the day, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job typically takes a day or two, depending on how many items. We clean up when we are done and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. Each item is left to cure, usually ready the next day.

Before we arrive

  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated

Getting a price

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and we will come back with a fixed figure.

For landlords and businesses

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, so there is no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

FAQs for The Calls

Are there extra charges for The Calls?

There is no separate call-out charge. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Can a coloured bath be made white?

Yes. We resurface it in white with it left in place.

Do I have to be there?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.

Can you repair several things at once?

Of course, and it usually saves money. Send pictures of everything together and you will get one combined price.

Will the price change on the day?

Your quote covers the damage in the pictures. If there’s more, we will tell you before starting.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Just make sure the landlord agrees.

Repairing versus replacing in The Calls

Replacing a coloured suite involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing changes the colour without taking anything out. Prices start from £350. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so you know the cost before booking.

Why The Calls clients choose us

  • No extra charge for your area
  • Fixed prices from your photos
  • Colour-matched on site
  • Usually one visit, start to finish

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

Common problems we fix in The Calls

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s generally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

Most people get in touch after spotting one of these:

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • Faded or patchy colour

What your quote should include

  • How soon you can use it again
  • Whether the price covers travel
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
