Coloured bath resurfacing in The Hale without replacing anything
Everything is resurfaced where it stands, with no new plumbing or tiling. A full suite is usually done in one to two days. Our repair technicians work on coloured shower trays, avocado, pampas and pink baths and coloured basins, and the jobs we see most are a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and selling or letting a home with an old suite.
The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it. Look after the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

What a repair cannot fix
We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair won’t do:
- The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
- Items cracked right through
- Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)
Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.
Surfaces we repair
- Whole bathroom suites
- Avocado, pampas and pink baths
- Coloured shower trays
- Coloured basins
Repair or replace in The Hale?
Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing changes the colour without taking anything out. Prices start from £350. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.
What you get with us
- Rooms protected and left tidy
- Generally one visit, start to finish
- We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing
- Every repair guaranteed for a year
Read our pricing and resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.
Can I fix it myself?
The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
The Hale questions
Do you cover The Hale?
Yes, we do. We send a technician to The Hale for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it is not worth repairing, we will tell you.
How soon can you come?
Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.
Can you redo someone else’s repair?
Typically, yes. The old repair comes out first.
Can you turn my avocado bath white?
Yes. It’s resurfaced in white where it stands.
Do you hold any accreditations?
Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.
What about the toilet?
Talk to us first. The inside of a bowl is always wet and scrubbed, so we’ll tell you what will last.
Can you do more than one item on the same visit?
Yes. Doing several items on one visit typically costs less than separate visits. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

Common problems we fix in The Hale
Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. The problem is typically the colour, not the bath.
Contact us if you’ve noticed:
- A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
- Faded or patchy colour
- A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
- Selling or letting a home with an old suite
Before you book anyone
- What happens if the damage is worse than the photos show
- Whether the colour is mixed to match
- Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
- Whether a trained technician does the job
Prices and what affects them
Resurfacing from £350. We price every job individually, from your photos. What matters most is:
- The colour and finish to match
- What kind of damage it is
- How many items we do on one visit
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.
How to get a fixed quote
It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Try to send:
- One picture of the whole suite
- The material, if you know it
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
If you are in The Hale and want a price, pictures are the quickest way: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.
Landlords, agents and businesses in The Hale
We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
What happens on the day
You do not need to empty the room. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and start once you’re happy with the plan. It typically takes one to two days for a full suite, and you can get on with other things while we are there.
- First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
- We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
- The surface is prepared and primed.
- We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
- We leave everything to cure, usually until the day after.
Before we arrive
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
How to get a price
No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.
