Need coloured bath resurfacing in The Hythe?

Repairing versus replacing in The Hythe

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white changes the colour without taking anything out. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Coloured bath resurfacing at your home in The Hythe

Most suites take one or two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, with no new plumbing or tiling. We’re frequently asked to fix a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and faded or patchy colour, across coloured shower trays, coloured basins and avocado, pampas and pink baths.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you’re covered after the visit. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

Common questions in The Hythe

Is there a call-out fee?

We do not add a call-out fee. Your fixed quote includes everything.

Can you do the toilet too?

Talk to us first. A toilet bowl is constantly wet, so we will advise honestly before quoting.

Does someone need to be in?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You do not need to watch us work.

What happens next?

You’ll get a fixed quote back. You are under no obligation.

Is there any odour?

A little, depending on the job. Open windows and an extractor fan help.

Do you cover The Hythe?

Yes. We cover the whole UK and come to The Hythe and the rest of Essex. Send photos and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Can you price it without visiting?

Yes, almost always. Clear pictures let us give you a fixed price without visiting.

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Prices start from £350. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We take into account:

  • Access to the area
  • How many areas need work
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • What kind of damage it is

Set against the cost of replacement, repairing generally costs far less, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

How to get a fixed price

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Try to send:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • The material, if you know it
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job.

How it works

On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we will get on with it. The job generally runs to one to two days for a full suite, tidy-up included.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
  5. Once cured, normally by the day after, the suite is ready.

Preparing for the visit

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

Getting a price

The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of pictures through our quote form or call us. We will say immediately if a repair is the right fix.

Can I fix it myself?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

Signs you need coloured bath resurfacing in The Hythe

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. The problem is typically the colour, not the bath.

Most people get in touch when they notice one of these:

  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Faded or patchy colour

What to look for in a quote

  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • Whether the price covers travel
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the photos show
  • What prep work is covered

What we cannot put right

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair can’t fix:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

Materials we repair

  • Coloured shower trays
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured basins
