How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in The Pound

We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there’s no plumbing or tiling. A full suite is typically done in one to two days. We work on coloured basins, whole bathroom suites and coloured shower trays, and the jobs we see most are faded or patchy colour and selling or letting a home with an old suite.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything is not right, ring us and we will sort it. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

Repair or replace in The Pound?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing changes the colour with everything left in place. Our coloured bath resurfacing starts from £350. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Why The Pound customers choose us

  • No extra charge for your area
  • Usually one visit, start to finish
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish

Signs you need coloured bath resurfacing in The Pound

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s usually the colour that dates them, not the condition.

These are the problems we’re asked about most:

  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white

What to look for in a quote

  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • How your room will be protected
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • If travel is included in the price

Choosing a repair company

For landlords and businesses

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we’ll arrange it.

What we can’t put right

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair can’t fix:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Materials we repair

  • Coloured basins
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths

DIY kit or professional repair?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Resurfacing from £350. You will not pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • The material and finish
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. You’ll see the full price before you book.

How to get a fixed price

Two or three clear photos are usually enough. It helps if you send:

  • The material, if you know it
  • One picture of the entire suite
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the entire suite, include your postcode and send them to us. You’ll get a fixed quote, not an estimate.

The Pound: your questions answered

Can I get a quote without a visit?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the photos can’t show what we need.

Can you turn my avocado bath white?

Yes. We resurface it in white with it left in place.

Which areas do you work in?

Across the UK, and that includes The Pound. Our prices are the same everywhere.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

How soon can you come?

Your quote comes with available dates. If it’s urgent, say so and we’ll do what we can.

What happens after I send photos?

You get a fixed quote and available dates. If we need another angle, we’ll ask.

Is there a call-out fee?

Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

How the visit works

Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you’re not left guessing. Once we’re there, the work takes a day or two, depending on how many items for most jobs. The room is left tidy.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
  5. Each item is left to cure, normally ready the day after.

Preparing for the visit

  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

Ask for a price

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and you will get a fixed figure back.
