Trusted coloured bath resurfacing in Torridge

Coloured bath resurfacing in Torridge without replacing anything

Most suites take one or two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, with no new plumbing or tiling. We regularly repair coloured basins, avocado, pampas and pink baths and whole bathroom suites, and people most often call us about faded or patchy colour and a dated coloured suite you’d like in white.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we’ll come back. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

What we do, step by step

There is not much you need to do on the day. Let us in and show us the room, and we will take it from there. The job generally runs to a day or two, depending on how many items, including clearing up.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. Next we degrease everything and fix chips.
  3. We prepare the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. The new white, or other colour, finish is sprayed on.
  5. Once cured, normally by the next day, the suite is ready.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

Getting a price

You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.

FAQs for Torridge

What about the toilet?

Talk to us first. The inside of a bowl is always wet and scrubbed, so we will tell you what will last.

Do you cover the entire of Devon?

We cover the entire UK, including Torridge and the rest of Devon. Send your postcode with your pictures and we’ll offer you dates.

Can a coloured bath be made white?

Yes. We resurface it in white with it left in place.

Is there a call-out fee?

We do not add a call-out fee. Your fixed price includes everything.

Can you quote from pictures?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

What happens after I send pictures?

We review the photos and send a fixed quote with dates.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Landlords are often glad to have it sorted.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.

Why repair rather than replace?

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white turns it white without taking anything out. Prices start from £350. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

When a repair isn’t the answer

We will not take on work that won’t last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

Materials we repair

  • Coloured basins
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured shower trays

Signs you need coloured bath resurfacing in Torridge

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and many are still sound. It’s typically the colour that dates them, not the condition.

Look out for these signs:

  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Faded or patchy colour
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite

10 questions to ask before booking

What affects the price in Torridge

Resurfacing from £350. You’ll know the full cost before booking. We look at:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • What the surface is made of
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • What kind of damage it is

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book, with nothing added on the day.

Send photos for a quote

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A wider photo showing the whole suite
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

We price from pictures so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and we will come back with a fixed figure.
