Coloured bath resurfacing in Wapping

Can I fix it myself?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

About our coloured bath resurfacing in Wapping

A full suite is normally done in one to two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, with no new plumbing or tiling. If you are dealing with a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and selling or letting a home with an old suite, we can help, whatever the material.

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

The process

You do not need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and start once you are happy with the plan. It generally takes a day or two, depending on how many items, and you are welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. Once cured, normally by the next day, the suite is ready.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Work for landlords and builders

Hospitality businesses can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so we keep visits short and tidy. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Resurfacing from £350. You won’t pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Access to the area
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • What the surface is made of

What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

How to get a fixed price

Most quotes are done from photos alone. To make it quick:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • One picture of the entire suite
  • The material, if you know it
  • Something in shot to show the size

Upload photos of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, with your E1 postcode, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

Common questions in Wapping

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Yes, almost always. Clear pictures let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it is not worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

What happens if you find more damage?

If we find something the pictures didn’t show, we explain it first. You decide whether to go ahead.

Is it messy?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we have finished.

Can you do the toilet too?

Ask us. A toilet bowl is constantly wet, so we’ll advise honestly before quoting.

Do the materials smell?

A little, depending on the job. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders in Wapping.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

Repairing versus replacing in Wapping

Replacing a coloured suite involves a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Resurfacing turns it white without taking anything out. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Our prices are the same across the UK, so there is no premium for Wapping. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

What we cannot put right

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.
