How we handle wood floor repair in Ayr
Boards are repaired where they lie, with the colour and grain matched by hand. Water-swollen laminate needs replacing, and we will tell you if that’s the case. We’re often asked to fix scratches from furniture and pets and chipped board edges, across solid wood, engineered wood and laminate flooring.
Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do. Put felt pads on furniture legs and wipe spills straight away.

Repair or replace in Ayr?
Swapping a damaged board can mean lifting the floor back to it, finding a board that matches and laying it all again. A repair works with the boards in place. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.
Why Ayr clients choose us
- CHAS and Constructionline accredited
- A year’s guarantee on all work
- Straight answers about what a repair can do
- Generally one visit, start to finish
See our prices page.
Can I fix it myself?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.
The process
We begin by going over the job with you, so you know exactly what we are doing. After that, protection goes down around the work area and we start. You can expect it to take a few hours.
- We clean the damaged area.
- Next we fill the dents and chips.
- The repair is levelled to the board.
- We recreate the colour and grain by hand.
- Finally we match the sheen of the floor.
Before we arrive
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access
How to get a price
Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them to us with your postcode, and you will get a fixed quote back. There’s no charge for the quote and no obligation.

Prices and what affects them
Repairs from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:
- The material and finish
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- Doing more than one item at once
- How hard the colour is to match
No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
How to get a fixed quote
A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- A wider photo showing the entire floor
- Something in shot to show the size
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
For a price in Ayr, photos are the quickest way: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. You will get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.
