Wood floor repair in Connah's Quay, done in place

Water-swollen laminate needs replacing, and we’ll be honest about that. Boards are repaired where they lie, matched to the colour and grain. Common call-outs are for dents from dropped items and chipped board edges, on engineered wood, laminate flooring and wood-effect vinyl (ask us).

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything is not right, ring us and we’ll come back. Put felt pads on furniture legs and wipe spills immediately.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

How the visit works

Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, cover and mask the work area, and get on with the job, which normally takes a morning or an afternoon. If we find something your photos didn’t show, we will explain it before carrying on.

  1. We clean the damaged area.
  2. Dents, chips and gouges are filled.
  3. We level the repair to the board surface.
  4. We recreate the colour and grain by hand.
  5. The repair is finished to match the floor’s sheen.

How to prepare

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

Advice

When a repair isn’t the answer

We won’t take on work that will not last, so these are the limits:

  • Laminate swollen along the joints by water
  • Boards that have lifted or warped
  • Underfloor damage

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Materials we repair

  • Wood-effect vinyl (ask us)
  • Laminate flooring
  • Solid wood
  • Engineered wood

How we price wood floor repair

Prices start from £95. We price every job individually, from your pictures. What matters most is:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How much damage there is
  • How many items we do on one visit

Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Send pictures for a quote

We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what we need:

  • A photo taken from further back
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three photos using our quote form or call us. We will tell you honestly whether it can be repaired.

Why repair rather than replace?

Swapping a damaged board can mean lifting the floor back to it, finding a board that matches and laying it all again. A repair leaves the floor down. Prices start from £95. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. You’ll see the full price before booking.
