Bath repair in Connah's Quay without replacing anything

We repair enamelled steel, cast iron and acrylic baths. Each material is repaired a little differently: metal baths need any rust dealt with first, and acrylic cracks need support from behind. Typical jobs include an old repair that has yellowed or come loose and snagging damage from a refit, on roll-top & freestanding, cast iron enamel and pressed steel enamel.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

Before and after: a chipped, rust-stained bath around the plughole

Common problems we fix in Connah's Quay

The usual cause is something heavy dropped into the bath, and building work is a common culprit. Acrylic baths crack for a different reason: poor support underneath, so the bath flexes when it’s full.

Keep an eye out for these signs:

  • Chips under the taps
  • Damage done while the bathroom was being fitted
  • Holes from dropped items
  • A cracked acrylic bath

Why repair rather than replace?

For damage in one or two places, a repair is the obvious choice. It’s a fraction of the cost of a new bath and fitting, it’s done in one visit, and nothing else in the room changes. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Why book with us

  • Same prices wherever you are
  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing

DIY repairs versus a professional job

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Connah's Quay

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, so there is no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit to keep costs down.

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.

Questions from Connah's Quay

What happens next?

We look at the pictures and reply with a fixed quote and some dates. If we need another angle, we’ll ask.

Can pets and children be at home?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.

Can you repair several things at once?

Of course, and it typically saves money. Send pictures of everything together and you will get one combined price.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes. We carry out repairs for householders, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses across Flintshire.

Can you price it without visiting?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the photos can’t show what we need.

Is a repair better than a new one?

In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

When can I have a bath again?

Normally by the following day, depending on the repair.

Do you repair coloured baths?

Yes. The colour is mixed on site to suit your bath, including older coloured suites.

Keeping it looking good

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Store metal items away from the bath
  • Ensure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
  • Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
  • Get any new chip repaired before it rusts

Don’t leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, as they can leave rust marks. And fix dripping taps promptly.

If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Each time it flexes, the crack grows, and it can start to leak underneath.

How we price bath repair

Prices start from £95. We give every job a fixed quote from photos. These are the things that affect it:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • The material and finish
  • How easy the damage is to reach

The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Quotes from your photos

Most quotes are done from photos alone. To help us price it:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can give you a fixed quote the same day in most cases.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Pressed steel

Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Chips rust quickly on steel, especially around the waste, so repair chips early.

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. They do not rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

What happens on the day

From the moment we arrive, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the job takes two to three hours for most chips, depending on what we find, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the day after.

How to prepare

  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Ensure the area is dry
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.
