Kitchen sink repair in No Man's Land

Kitchen sink repair at your home in No Man's Land

If the vinyl wrap has lifted across a door, it generally needs re-wrapping; we repair chips and dents. We repair the damage and match the original finish, so the kitchen stays as it is. Common call-outs are for damage from fitting or moving appliances and chipped door and drawer edges, on ceramic Belfast & butler sinks, composite sinks and gloss and matt cupboard doors.

We guarantee the work for a year. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right. Use a sink mat or bowl for heavy pans, and dry the door edges after spills.

When we would advise against a repair

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair will not do:

  • Doors where the vinyl wrap has lifted across a large area
  • Doors swollen by water
  • Sinks cracked through the base

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Composite sinks
  • Cabinet ends & plinths

10 questions to ask before booking

No Man's Land: your questions answered

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Typically, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so let us know about it.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Is repairing better than replacing?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it is not worth repairing, we will tell you.

What do you need from me?

Some pictures, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, we only need access to the room.

Can tenants book a repair?

Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit generally costs less than separate visits. Include photos of each item.

Can landlords book you?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as homeowners in No Man's Land.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. There’s no area surcharge for No Man's Land. The price reflects:

  • The material
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • The colour and finish to match
  • How many items we do on one visit

A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send pictures and you will get a fixed figure.

How to get a fixed price

The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • The material, if you know it
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

Send us photos of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, and tell us you are in No Man's Land, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

The process

When we visit, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. Expect it to take a morning or an afternoon. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. We start by preparing the damage.
  2. Chips are filled and edges rebuilt.
  3. We sand the repair to the original profile.
  4. We match the colour to the glaze or door.
  5. We polish or seal the repair.

How to prepare

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area

Advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

Landlord and trade work in No Man's Land

Hospitality businesses cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Repair or replace: which is better?

A new sink or door may mean disturbing the worktop and plumbing, or hunting for a door that is no longer made. A repair leaves everything in place. Prices start from £95. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.
