Trusted non-slip bath coating in No Man's Land

Non-slip bath coating in No Man's Land, done in place

The coating is clear and textured, so it shows only as a slightly matt area where you stand. It’s popular with older people, families and holiday lets. Common call-outs are for worn-out textured areas and safety for older or less mobile people, in resurfaced baths, shower trays and enamelled baths.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right. Clean with a soft brush and a mild cleaner. Avoid scourers on the coating.

Landlords, agents and businesses in No Man's Land

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Instead, you could go for replacing the bath or tray with a textured one, or relying on a mat that needs lifting and cleaning. A non-slip coating treats your existing bath or tray. Set against the cost of replacement, repairing generally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

It helps to know what we can’t do too:

  • Outdoor surfaces

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

What we work on

  • Acrylic baths
  • Resurfaced baths
  • Wet room floors (ask us)
  • Shower trays
  • Enamelled baths

What happens on the day

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so there are no surprises. Next, we cover and mask everything nearby and we start. It normally takes a morning or an afternoon, and we will keep you posted as we go.

  1. We clean and degrease the standing area.
  2. Next we mask off the area.
  3. We put on the clear non-slip coating.
  4. The masking comes off to leave a neat edge.
  5. Once it has cured, normally overnight, it’s ready.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

We price every job individually, from your pictures. What matters most is:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access.

How to get a fixed price

The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • The material, if you know it
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
