Non-slip bath coating for Aike homes

Non-slip bath coating in Aike, done in place

It suits homes with older or less mobile people, holiday lets and families. It’s a clear, textured coating, so it shows only as a slightly matt area where you stand. We work on acrylic baths, resurfaced baths and shower trays, and common reasons people get in touch are resurfaced baths that are now too smooth and a bath or tray that is slippery when wet.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will sort it. A soft brush and mild cleaner keep it clean. Don’t use abrasive pads on the textured area.

How it works

Once we’re through the door, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. We mask off everything nearby, the work takes a morning or an afternoon, depending on what we find, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. We clean and degrease the standing area.
  2. The area to be treated is masked out.
  3. The clear textured coating is applied.
  4. We remove the masking for a neat edge.
  5. The coating is left to cure before use, typically overnight.

Before we arrive

  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before

What we can’t put right

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair can’t fix:

  • Surfaces that are already damaged or peeling (these need repairing first)
  • Textured areas still wet or recently cleaned with oily products
  • Outdoor surfaces

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before you book.

What we work on

  • Shower trays
  • Enamelled baths
  • Resurfaced baths
  • Wet room floors (ask us)
  • Acrylic baths

When to call us in Aike

Smooth surfaces are easy to clean, but wet, soapy surfaces are slippery. Textured areas on older baths wear smooth too.

Look out for any of the following:

  • Safety for older or less mobile people
  • Resurfaced baths that are now too smooth
  • Worn-out textured areas
  • Bath mats that harbour mould or get forgotten

Before you book anyone

  • Who will actually do the work
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the photos show
  • How the colour is matched

Our hiring checklist

What non-slip bath coating costs

Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:

  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Access to the area
  • What kind of damage it is
  • How many areas need work

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Aike. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Send pictures for a quote

We price nearly every job from photos. This is what we need:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath or shower tray
  • The material, if you know it
  • Details of any past repairs

Email us pictures of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, and tell us you’re in Aike, and we will come back with a fixed quote.

For landlords and businesses

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Aike use us as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit to keep costs down.

Aike: your questions answered

How much does non-slip bath coating cost in Aike?

Every job gets a fixed quote from your photos. Send a close-up and a picture of the whole item and your postcode.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.

What information do you need?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787, and we’ll take it from there.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

What happens after I send pictures?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote with dates.

Is there any odour?

A little, depending on the job. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. The rest of the house is unaffected.

What areas do you cover?

The entire UK, including all of East Riding of Yorkshire. Send your postcode with your pictures and we’ll confirm dates.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Instead, you could go for a new textured bath or tray, or relying on a mat that needs lifting and cleaning. A coating treats your existing bath or tray. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Why us?

  • Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • One-year guarantee on every repair
  • We leave the room as we found it
  • A fixed quote before booking

Can I fix it myself?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
